Village of Los Lunas Retroreflectivity Sign Policy
New Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) changes to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) regarding sign retroreflectivity standards became final on January 22, 2008.
- By January 2015, all local government must ensure that all regulatory, warning and ground-mounted guide signs comply with the minimum retroreflectivityrequirements.
- By January 2018, all street name signs and overhead guide signs comply with the minimum retroreflectivity standards.
The Village of Los Lunas has mapped all traffic and non-related traffic signs within the community and maintains a data base of information pertaining to those signs in and out-of-compliance. This policy provides the framework for the division to maintain a management plan of all traffic and non-traffic related signs. For more information:
