The Village of Los Lunas imposes impact fees on new development for water, sewer and parks, in accordance with the Development Fees Act of the State of New Mexico, Section 5-8-3 NMSA 1978. The Village went through its most recent review of land use assumptions and impact fee capital improvements in 2023, and approved an Impact Fees Capital Improvements Plan (IFCIP) by Resolution 23-18 on October 5, 2023. Following this, the Impact Fees Ordinance was updated with a new schedule of impact fees, effective January 23, 2024.
