Police Department Complaint Form

  1. The Los Lunas Police Department takes all complaints against its members seriously. The public has a right to expect and demand fair and impartial law enforcement services. In providing these services, the department employee must be free to exercise his/her best judgment and to initiate action in a reasonable, lawful and impartial manner, without fear of reprisal. While mutual rights of the public and the employee are normally respected, situations may arise when these rights are violated. To protect the rights of the public and the department employee, it is necessary that allegations of police misconduct be investigated.

    I understand that this statement of complaint will be submitted to the Los Lunas Police Department and may be the basis for an investigation. Further, I sincerely and truly declare and affirm that the facts contain herein are complete, accurate, and true to the best of my knowledge and belief. Further, I declare and affirm that my statement has been made by me voluntarily without persuasion, coercion, or promise of any kind.

    I understand that under the regulations of the police department, the officer against whom the complaint is filed may be entitled to request a hearing before a hearing officer. By submitting and filing the complaint, I hereby agree to appear before the hearing officer, if one is requested by an officer and to testify under oath concerning all matters relevant to the complaint.
