LEDA allows public support of economic development projects to foster, promote and enhance local economic development efforts while continuing to protect against the unauthorized use of public money and other public resources. The Village's LEDA ordinance also allows the Village to enter into joint powers agreements or memoranda of understanding with other local governments to support regional economic development projects.
The Village allows public support of economic development projects through the issuance of IRBs from time to time for appropriate projects, as provided in the IRB Act, and to provide assistance for projects qualifying under the LEDA Act to foster, promote, and enhance local economic development efforts while continuing to protect against the unauthorized use of public money and other public resources.
The Village has adopted an affordable housing plan and ordinance in compliance with the NM Affordable Housing Act, in order to support the development of qualified affordable housing through incentives like housing assistance grants, waiver of fees, and when applicable, donation or reduced sale price of Village land.
