Learn to Colcha

Saturday, April 25, 2020

Sabanilla labrada, or wool-on-wool colcha embroidery work, was developed and made in New Mexico during the Spanish colonial period. Wool from black sheep were dyed using indigenous plants. Women would embroider primitive drawings of what they observed in their daily lives. Join Annette Turk & Julia Gomez as they teach you this traditional New Mexican art.
