Transportation Center Master Plan Update
The Village of Los Lunas is working with Sites Southwest to update the Transportation Center Master Plan. The Village initiated this update in order to have the site plan reflect several changes that have taken place since the master plan was originally produced in 2013. These changes have been incorporated into a new draft plan, which was discussed at a community meeting on January 8, 2019 at the Transportation Center.
The Village will be presenting this item for further discussion at the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on February 20, 2019, then to Village Council for final decision on March 7, 2019. The DRAFT Resolution for approval of the plan is available to the right. If you have comments on the draft plan, below, or simply wish follow the progress of this project, please attend the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting!

After the current Transportation Center Master Plan was approved in 2013, several developments have made the final site plan out of date. The Village has purchased additional land adjacent to Los Lentes Rd., and has also worked with the School of Dreams Academy (SODA) to purchase the former site of the Monte Vista Mobile Home Park. SODA is now operating a school on this site, which is shown on the original plan as mixed commercial and residential. Also, NMDOT has finalized a design for the Courthouse Rd. realignment, which is not reflected in this original plan. Finally, after much consideration, the Village has determined that is is not practical to operate an outdoor amphitheater in this area. The updated plan revises the site plan to reflect these changes, while keeping the spirit of the original document.
