Administration

El Cerro is outside of the incorporated limits of the Village of Los Lunas. Those services are only available within the Village.

Fire Department
|

Yes you need a permit and MUST follow rules on burning , and there is no charge for permit.

We have a combination department consisting of 15 paid and 17 volunteers.

You MUST have a current New Mexico EMT – Basic license and firefighter level – 1 certification
|
|
|
You must be 18 years old and reside in the Village of Los Lunas limits.

No, because of the liabilities and the poles belong to the Public service of New Mexico. They are trained to work on these poles.

Housing Authority
|
|
The Housing Authority is not currently accepting applications and will not open the application process again for at least one year.
Housing Department
|
|
|
In order to be eligible for the Homeownership program, you must be a current Section 8 participant and must have been on the program for at least one year. If this is the case you must contact the Executive Director, Ms Pamela Ewers-Skinner at (505) 839-3854 ext 7696 for an application.

Library
|
|
Library cards are available for free. Photo identification and proof of mailing address must be provided for verification purposes. Lost library cards are replaced for a $2.00 fee.

|
Loan limits are for 21 days with a maximum of 20 items per library card. Videos and DVDs are checked out for day days usage.
|
|
|
The library charges no fines except on videos and DVDs. Late charges are $1.00 per day/ per video or DVD up to a $5.00 fine limit per video or DVD.

|
|
The library is located at 460 Main St. NE. That is one block west of McDonald’s and across from the fire station and Los Lunas Middle School.

Municipal Court
|

Any crime that carries as a form of sentencing a fine not to exceed $500, or a detention stay of 90 days.

No, but by calling us we can let you know if there will be a large community activity or company picnic, these activities are required to have a park permit and will reserve a specific location within the park.

No. The center is more athletic, physical-activity, equipment-orientated. There are no community activity rooms in the facility.

The pool is owned and managed by the Los Lunas School District and is open during summer hours.

No, if you need to file an official police report, you need to go to the police department or have an officer respond to your home.

|

The street lights are owned by the Village of Los Lunas; however we have an agreement with the Public Service Company of New Mexico to repair the lights. They will repair them within one month of receiving the street light form.

The cameras are used for detecting the presence of vehicles in order to provide the best distribution of green time based on traffic demand.

No, speeding is a problem within all communities. We are looking at other methods in slowing traffic that won't increase calls to our insurance company.

Yes, if they are in the village limits and are not privately owned.

Transportation
|

No, all rides are scheduled daily, based on vans in certain areas at certain times.
|
|
|
All rides are $1.00 each way, with senior and UNM/VC student discounts. We are not Medicare or Medicaid providers. Shuttle service for the Rail Runner is $.50 each way.

We serve Los Lunas and most of Valencia County. The Rail service is available to and from Albuquerque.
