1. Do we need a permit to burn weeds and how much are they?

Yes you need a permit and MUST follow rules on burning , and there is no charge for permit.

2. Is your department paid or volunteer?

We have a combination department consisting of 15 paid and 17 volunteers.

3. How can I be a paid member?

You MUST have a current New Mexico EMT – Basic license and firefighter level – 1 certification

4. How can I become a volunteer firefighter?

You must be 18 years old and reside in the Village of Los Lunas limits.

5. Do you get cats down from power poles?

No, because of the liabilities and the poles belong to the Public service of New Mexico. They are trained to work on these poles.
